What Our Fellows Say About the Initiative

I founded an environmental nonprofit (called For Earth’s Sake) not because I had a background in climate science but out of concern for the state of our environment. It was purely out of concern and I have learned to love the field. To grow and make the impact I wish to see requires that I get all the help I can and the SparkUp Initiative Fellowship is one of the help that came my way to serve this cause effectively. Having a very small team, I am obliged to wear different hats of responsibility. I have had no formal or even a previous training in fundraising and thanks to the SUI Fellowship I have acquired knowledge not just for me but to pass down to my team (because I learned fundraising is not the job of a single person within the organisation). Thank you again to Dr. Eva Wieners as all the entire SUI team.

Lizette N. Bewekedi Founder/Executive Director

The Spark Up Initiative Fellowship exceeded my expectations. It was insightful, engaging, and practical. The one-on-one session was an extra mile that made a difference. Thank you, Spark Up Initiative!

Okeoghene Jane Akpaeva Executive Director

I appreciate the patience and support from the facilitators. I hope to meet Eva one of these days. The wealth of knowledge is beyond measure. I loved the flexibility of the course.

Kumbirai Kahiya Team Leader

SparkUp helped me understand the importance of storytelling. The one-on-one session was especially valuable because it showed me the importance of shared experiences.

Lara Rowland Founder/CEO

SparkUP has given me the guidance on preparing the proposals and taught me about problem identification with a strategic approach.

Geeta Dangol Founder/President

I absolutely appreciated this fellowship. The training provided an ideal of reinforcing my knowledge and enriched my overall experience on fundraising. I’m so grateful for the valuable insights and guidance this fellowship gave me. Thank you for helping us take our fundraising efforts to the next level.
